The Supervisor is a 20 year employee with the organization, she knows the Section inside and out... I can't even try putting a price on trying to replace her. The cost of the TriMetrix was insignificant compared to the potential loss. Best purchase I have made to date. "We had an area in our organization that encompassed very long term employees. Each time a Section review was done the same comments came forth on the Supervisor, even though the Supervisor and the Manager were different for each review. Each review was unfavorable towards the Supervisor. Each Supervisor that had been in place for the Section had been promoted from within the Section. Previous Supervisors of the Section had left the organization entirely that were named in the previous reviews. As I sat beside the current Supervisor and met with her on a regular basis, what I saw and what I read in the review did not always match, some points were valid, otherwise were not. This meant I was either missing something or something wasn't right. What I needed was the assistance of an external company to have a review of the Supervisor role, work ethics and position performed, and therefore we asked for the TriMetrix Job Benchmarking Report, as well as the report for the Supervisor. The TriMetrix Package validated what I had indicated in the performance review of the Supervisor. This assured me I was on the right track. The Supervisor's job description was updated to include further skills and abilities that were identified through the process but missing in the job description itself. How the Supervisor and I saw the position operating matched, no major differences. The evaluation between the position itself and the Supervisor confirmed that she was a good fit and this was what I believed as well. The fact that the results came from an external company now removed any notion that what I felt or observed was incorrect and it validated all the information that we had, so no one could say I was just sticking up for one of my Supervisors. Once all the Section reviews were put together, along with the Supervisor's performance reviews and TriMetrix results we found a common thread to all the Section reviews. Had we not done the TriMetrix the review would have been filed with a negative connotation towards to the Supervisor and we potentially could have lost a very competent Supervisor within the organization. As a result of the review and the results of the TrimMetrix I was successful in obtaining a second Supervisory position to assist the current Supervisor in her workload, which indeed was a 180 turn around from where this process started and how it could have ended.
