People Are Our #1 Priority

The Executive Network corporately and our Team Members individually, are actively involved in helping individuals and organizations locally, provincially, nationally and internationally. For Example: Every year since 1999 we have provided a substantial annual financial award to a deserving student, faculty, or staff member of Camosun College.  Every month for the past several years we have sponsored a child in a third world country to receive better health care, education, clean water and better living conditions. Every week we contribute a portion of our income to be used to help shelter and feed the homeless, the lonely and the hungry. Every day...

Career Transition Services Print

Unfortunately, there may come a time when you must let a valuable employee go. These can be very traumatic times for the employer, the other employees, and of course, the employee who is leaving. Our Career Transition Services are headed by Walter Donald, former Vice President of Murray Axmith & Associates and Right Management, and currently President of The Executive Network, Inc. Walter brings his many years of experience in Career Transition Services to ensure a smooth transition for every individual involved.

transition servicesOur ten step programme is customized for each client. The programme for those seeking other employment is supplemented by a workbook, "Take this Job and Love It", which clients from all walks of life have found a very helpful guide.

In partnership with Hatch & Muir and Walmsley & Associates, The Executive Network Inc. provides full service transition packages that include career transition counseling, personal counseling, and financial counseling.

The Executive Network Inc. consultants work personally with our clients, to help them manage their career transition, whether it be to redefine their career path, successfully move to other employment perhaps after a corporate re-structuring, or into retirement.

Whether the goal is re-employment, career re-definition, or retirement, as an initial step we normally use the TriMetix™ assessment tool and include it in the workbook.

TriMetrix™ assessment is based on a 37 factor analysis that reviews a person's specific traits in three areas that describe the how, why and what of their life-style. The three areas are: Behaviours; Motivators and Natural Skills. Over and over again, in both practical examples with our clients and in theoretical research, we find that having comprehensive and accurate insight about themselves is fundamental to a client's successful transition in their lives to retirement, an occupational change, or personal development.

Having reviewed the confidential TriMetrix™ report with the client, our consultants work with them, one-on-one, on their transition action plan for an indefinite number of appointments over a period of up to three or more months (usually about 10 or more sessions). Issues covered include, ‘taking inventory and employment analysis', ‘considering the ideal work environment and career path', ‘effective resume and cover letters' ‘effective networking', ‘interviewing', ‘life style changes and personal action plans'. Program extensions can be negotiated on a month by month basis.

Personal Counselling

At The Executive Network, Inc. our professional career transition consultants work in cooperation with our associates at Walmsley and Associates as required. We share private meeting and office facilities. Some clients do not need any Personal Counselling, others find they benefit from some supportive personal issues counselling, and others may require more in-depth counselling to help them deal with more complex or profound social, psychological or health related matters.

Career transition, whether re-employment, re-definition or retirement, may help the client to identify difficulties or crises in relationships, grief, depression and anger, which may even be evidenced in self-harmful behaviour (e.g. alcohol abuse, self-isolation). If a client has these difficulties we provide professional Personal Counselling. The counsellors are all educated and qualified in their field; are members of professional associations and adhere to a professional code of conduct.

Financial Planning advice

Career transition is usually accompanied by significant financial changes, and may come with a financial severance or retiring allowance. Through our associates at Hatch & Muir we can provide up to three sessions of Financial Planning advice during the programme. The professionals at Hatch & Muir work with clients to develop a basic financial plan that provides realistic "what-if" scenarios that project future cash flows and illustrate the impact of taxation over time. The goal is to help clients make the informed decisions necessary to help manage and control their financial assets to support their transition to re-employment, a re-defined career, retirement and other life changes.

Our fee includes:

  • TriMetrix™ assessment and Career Transition Consultation;
  • The availability of Personal Counselling as appropriate;
  • Up to three sessions, if the client so chooses, of Financial Planning.
